1. Grievance Officer

We are an intermediary under section 79 of the Information Technology Act 2000, and we follow the due diligence required by the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021. Those Rules require us to publish a Grievance Officer.

Email is the channel we monitor and the fastest way to reach the officer.

2. How quickly we respond

These are obligations under the IT Rules 2021, not service targets:

  • We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receipt.
  • Where a complaint concerns content that is prima facie in the nature of nudity, a sexual act, or impersonation including artificially morphed images, we take reasonable measures to remove it within 24 hours of the complaint by the individual concerned or someone acting on their behalf.
  • Where content is named in a court order, or in a notification by the appropriate government or its agency, we remove or disable access within 36 hours.
  • Where an authorised government agency lawfully requires information, we provide it within 72 hours of the order.

3. Copyright complaints

You can raise a copyright complaint through the Grievance Officer above, or through our abuse report form. To let us find and act on the material, please include:

  • The exact install link, build ID or subdomain — not just a description.
  • What the work is, and enough detail to identify it.
  • Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

US DMCA safe harbour — coming soon

We have not yet registered a designated agent with the United States Copyright Office, so we do not currently claim the safe harbour under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c). We intend to complete that registration and will update this page when we do. It does not change how your complaint is handled: the timelines in section 2 are the ones that bind us, they come from Indian law, and several of them are faster than the DMCA's.

4. Repeat infringers

We keep a record of upheld complaints against an account. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are suspended, and a suspended account's builds stop being served. We keep enforcement records even after the reported material is gone — a repeat-infringer policy cannot work without the history that identifies a repeat infringer.

5. Misrepresentation

Do not send a notice about material you do not own the rights to, or to remove something you simply dislike. Knowingly materially misrepresenting that material is infringing carries liability for damages and costs, including the other side's legal fees. We may reject notices that are plainly abusive, and we keep a record of who sent them.

6. Records we keep

Where we remove or disable access to information, or where a user's registration is cancelled or withdrawn, we retain the information and the user registration records for at least 180 days, as the IT Rules 2021 require. This is a legal obligation and applies even if you ask us to delete the material. See our Privacy Policy for what we hold and why.

7. Which law applies

We are an Indian company and the regime that governs us as an intermediary is section 79 of the Information Technology Act 2000 together with the IT Rules 2021. The copyright process above follows the shape of the US DMCA because it is a widely understood format for a notice, not because we currently claim its safe harbour. Nothing here limits rights you may have under the law of your own country.
